Whenever I’m heading to the range or out for small game, I always end up debating between .22 LR and .17 HMR. Both have their perks, but I’m curious what you guys lean on more and why.
Do you stick with the classic .22 for the cheap ammo and easy shooting, or do you like the extra speed and flatter trajectory of the .17 HMR?
I’ve been hearing good things about the CCI A17 Varmint Tip rounds, apparently super accurate with clean powder and explosive on impact, but I haven’t run them myself yet.
So what’s your go-to, .22 or .17? And if you’ve got a favorite load, drop it in here. I’m looking for some recommendations.
